Playa Grande Guanacaste is one of the best surfing beaches in Guanacaste COSTA Rica. Playa Grande Beach is adjoining Playa Tamarindo Beach, only separated by the river estuary. Playa Grande Beach offers strong and steady waves almost all year round, with favorable off shore winds during the dry seasons months, from December to April. Playa Grande Beach is also inside the Las Baulas Marine National Park, a highly important sanctuary for the arrival, nesting and hatching of the Leatherback Sea Turtle.

Playa Grande Beach is a perfect combination between conservation, surfing, scientific studies and research and eco and sustainable development. There are a few hotels near Playa Grande Beach where visitors can stay, however, most of them stay in Tamarindo Beach, which is close to Grande Beach and has more hotels. Playa Grande Beach is definitely a beach we recommend to visit. If you are not a surfer, there is a wide option of activities, from walking along the beach, to resting on the sand or taking a short swim.
