Ostional Beach is located near Nosara, in the center of Peninsula de Nicoya. Ostional Beach and Wildlife Refuge is well known to be an important nesting and hatching site for the Pacific Sea Turtle, which arrives in the numbers of the thousands every year. The local community has been perfectly involved in this amazing natural spectacle, being able to profit both from the money coming in from visitors as well as from the sale of a part of the sea turtle eggs, which is a legal and authorized activity, even healthy for the sea turtle population. This activity has often been misunderstood by foreigners and people from other areas in Costa Rica.

Ostional Beach is a pristine beach, uninhabited other than by the locals and their small homes. Ostional also offers great waves for surfers and ecotourism activities of all kinds for nature lovers, especially families and scientists that come every year. Ostional is located between Guiones Beach and Junquillal Beach to the north. There are several ways of getting to Ostional. A  4 x 4 is highly recommended during both seasons of the year.
