| About Guanacaste |

Guanacaste , North Pacific , Costa Rica
|
Although Guanacaste and North Pacific Coast is not exactly the same thing, many people mean Guanacaste when they say North Pacific. This because Guanacaste covers the entire Northwestern portion of Costa Rica. Officially though, he southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula actually belongs to the province of Puntarenas, including Tambor, Paquera, Mal Pais and Santa Teresa, but geographically and for tourism purposes, it is often included in the area Guanacaste. The North Pacific includes the lowlands from the ocean until the rise and slopes of the volcanoes.

The North Pacific is a region that is dry, drier than the rest of the country. It has its rainy seasons too from April until November, the rest of the year though is very dry. The landscape is extremely changing and beautiful, with the light brown colors of the tropical dry forests combining with the beautiful dark and light blue of the Pacific Ocean. The secenery and landscapes are also changing and beautiful, from cattle ranches and haciendas until evergreen forests near the upper part of the high mountains and volcanoes.
