Guanacaste is the province of beaches, volcanoes, national parks and friendly people. Guanacaste, like all the other provinces, also has some larger towns and cities. The cities in Guanacaste are well known for not being extremely populated, which makes them save and great for tourists to explore. Actually the towns and larger cities in Guanacaste are known for their beauty, culture and  traditions. Although not highly visited by tourists, some towns and cities have become places that foreigners go to in order to shop, dine or simply visit.

The most popular towns and cities in Guanacaste include the capital city of Liberia and largest populated city, Cañas, Las Juntas, Tilaran, Bagaces, Nicoya, Santa Cruz, Hojancha, La Cruz and Carmona. I highly recommend the town of Carmona ( or Nadayure ) and Hojancha de Nicoya. They still maintain their central park, with benches where older folks spend their afternoon chatting with each other. Other important attractions are the Catholic Church in Nicoya and the Liberia Central Park.
